Dejonay Williams is a multidisciplinary artist whose work moves at the intersection of memory, emotion and embodied storytelling. Born and raised in Jamaica and shaped by the cultural rhythms of the Caribbean, she creates from a lineage of movement and communal imagination. Her practice is grounded in the belief that art is both archive and liberation, a way of preserving what might otherwise be forgotten and reimagining what has yet to be seen.

After relocating to Canada, pursuing a Bachelors of Fine Arts at York University, Dejonay expanded her artistic vocabulary through visual arts, digital media and critical creative theory. These disciplines sharpened her eye for narrative structure and deepened her commitment to exploring how identity, psyche and diaspora shape the stories we tell. Her work often blends spiritual, surrealism and visual design, reflecting her fascination with how different mediums can hold emotion in distinct yet complementary ways.

Today, Dejonay’s creative projects span widely, each one guided by a desire to make audiences feel, not just understand. She approaches art as a conversation: between past and present, between self and community, between the body and the world it moves through.
